Company Takeover Rumors

Takeover rumors (HP offer to buy 3Par, HSBC looking to purchase a stake in Nedbank) have equities slightly higher in early trading; bonds are mildly lower. There will be a total of $102B sold in 2yr, 5yr and 7yr notes this week. Right now, the futures market is pricing in a 94% chance that the Fed keeps rates between 0% and 0.25% through December 14th, 2010. Currently, the Ten Year yield is at 2.612% (2.55% on Friday) and the 2-10 yield spread is at 213bps, steepening 6bps since Friday morning.
